Therapy is an investment in you.
It may be more affordable than you think.
Do you accept my insurance?
Interval Health is an in-network provider with the following insurance companies:
-
All commercial AETNA plans; including the AETNA student health plan for Princeton University Student
-
All commercial OPTUM/United Behavioral Health (UBH) plans
Interval Health does not participate with Medicare/Medicaid managed care plans provided by these insurance companies and is an out-of-network (OON) providers, meaning we do not accept those insurance plans.
However, that doesn’t mean working with an OON provider like Interval Health has to break the bank. Many health insurance plans include OON mental health benefits, meaning your insurance helps to cover the cost of therapy.
Depending on your specific plan, your insurance carrier may reimburse you anywhere from 50-90% after you meet your OON deductible for the year - making therapy with an OON therapist more affordable than you might initially think.
HOW TO ACCESS OUT-OF-NETWORK THERAPY BENEFITS
01
MEET YOUR THERAPIST
You will pay the full fee at the time of your therapy session.
02
SUBMIT SUPERBILL TO INSURANCE
We provide you with a monthly superbill (a receipt of the therapy services you have already paid for) with all of the necessary information for you to submit the claim to your insurance.
03
GET REIMBURSED
Upon processing the claim, your insurance will reimburse you for a portion of your therapy session (dependent on your plan), typically in the form of a mailed check or direct deposit.
QUESTIONS FOR YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
When contacting your insurance provider to determine the details regarding your out-of-network benefits for mental health services, here are a few things you will want to ask:
-
Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is remaining?
-
How much will be covered per session?
-
Do I need to obtain a prior authorization?
-
Is there a limit to the number of sessions per year?
-
How do I submit receipts for reimbursement?

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you may be charged the full fee for the session.
In addition to weekly appointments, your therapist will charge the hourly psychotherapy rate for other professional services you may need, prorated in 15-minute increments.
Other professional services include report writing, telephone conversations lasting longer than 15 minutes, attendance at meetings with other professionals you have authorized, preparation of treatment summaries, and the time spent performing any other service you may request.
If you become involved in legal proceedings that require your therapist’s participation, you will be expected to pay for any professional time spend on your legal matter, even if the request comes from another party. Please note that these services are not reimbursable by insurance.
