HOW DO I SET UP THE FIRST APPOINTMENT?
In order for therapy to be most effective, you need to feel comfortable with your therapist. I offer a free 15 minute initial phone consultation which is a chance for you to get to know me a little bit, I can learn a bit about what you hope to achieve in therapy and we can see if we would be a good fit. Simply click the "I want to get started today" button below or the "Schedule Phone Consultation" button above to easily schedule a time to talk when Jennifer is available. Easy as that!
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST?
The initial session generally last about 60 minutes. Subsequent sessions are either 45 or 60 minutes long. I also offer 30 minute sessions in select situations for those clients doing well who want to maintain regular check ins. The frequency and length of sessions may change during the course of treatment, depending on your concerns and how you are coping.
ARE YOU BACK IN THE OFFICE YET? AND WHAT ABOUT ONLINE THERAPY?
YES I AM!
I am also offering online therapy to any clients located in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Illinois. Many find online therapy to be highly convenient and effective!
I know you might have concerns about the privacy and security of online therapy. For more detailed answers to those questions:
DO YOU PROVIDE COUPLES/MARITAL COUNSELING?
Yes. I work with many couples during this time in their life with a range of presenting concerns. I am not taking on new couples clients at this time however.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
For students of Princeton University, I am in-network with the Princeton University Exclusive Provider Network. If you have Princeton University Student Health Insurance your sessions are therefore covered under this plan and you are only responsible for your $20 copay.
If your health insurance is not through Princeton University, then I am considered out-of-network for your insurance. If your health insurance includes out-of-network coverage, at your request, I will submit the required forms to your insurance company on your behalf. You will still be required to pay the fee at the time of your session but I will take some hassle out of the process by submitting for reimbursement to your insurance company on your behalf. If you choose to submit yourself, I will provide you with a detailed receipt for your psychotherapy sessions. Your insurance company will reimburse you for the session according to the terms of your plan.
QUESTIONS FOR YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
When contacting your insurance provider to determine the details regarding your out-of-network benefits for mental health services, here are a few things you will want to ask:
-
Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is remaining?
-
How much will be covered per session?
-
Do I need to obtain a prior authorization?
-
Is there a limit to the number of sessions per year?
-
How do I submit receipts for reimbursement?
